Interested in teaching at REWILD?
Below are the steps to begin your journey.
We value the integrity of our mission and teachers that are aligned. Our greatest value is those unafraid to be themselves, seek honesty and truth, in their evolution of growth and connection towards community. Going through our BE BAD program is not required but highly recommended. The reason is we value and emphasis certain qualities, that may not exist in other trainings. *Baptiste inspired training programs are highly recommended. What we’re looking for is simple. How present and aware you are is everything to us. When you understand the basics really well, teaching becomes simple, creative and fun.
“Everyone wants to be happy. Being happy is simple. Being simple is difficult.
Be the energy you want to see. The energy of our community happens through our leaders
STEPS TO TEACHING
"how you do one thing, is how you do everything"
1 APPLY
submit the PREWILD application and choose a mentor, a current REWILD teacher.
2 PRACTICE
practice 3x per week, give the teacher KEEP STOP START feedback after every class. Don’t be afraid. This is to get you critically thinking. Don’t overthink. Don’t make it a big deal. JUST DO IT.
3 VIDEO CLASS
video at least one full class you teach with a mic, group or one person. Then take your own class: pull up the video and do an at-home practice from the class you taught. Share KEEP STOP START with your mentor and Steve by email or text. Teaching is about self exposure — the more you expose yourself, the less afraid you will be, and the more open to learn.
4 KNOW THE MATERIAL
assessed by your mentor first, then Steve: the purpose of each of the 11 Journey into Power sequences, the 5 pillars (breath, drishti, bandhas, tapas, vinyasa) and how they tie together, and True North Alignment built from the ground up. If you can’t explain it, you don’t understand it. Have something better than JIP? Tell us why.
5 COMMUNITY CLASSES
with the gate passed and mentor approval: 1 to 6 community classes, assessed week by week. What we watch: how you receive and implement feedback, your presence in the room, the pillars in action.
6 SUB
minimum 16 subbed classes, unpaid, including at least one 6:30am class. Count, not clock.
7 THE SCHEDULE
teacher initiation: welcome pack, contract and pay agreement, professional photos. Class times given based on availability and what you’ve proven.
TRUST THE PROCESS
More than anything at REWILD we are looking of genuine relationships. This begins with our leadership team. We value truth and sincerity, which creates respectful and honest relationships. Transparency is everything to us, we have nothing to hide and we will embody that through our leadership and community. If you love the work of human understanding, that’s physical, mental, and growth this process will be fun and exciting and deeply rewarding!
Power flow teachers |
must know and teach Journey into Power. Most prove they can teach Journey into Power. Creativity in sequences will come later. We want to see how well you pay attention to the room and actualize pillars (drishti, breathe, bandhis, tapas, flow). We want to see your pacing, timing, energy. We care less about your “creative sequence” more about your presence in the room.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TEACH POWER FLOW you must make that clear to us. We have other offerings, SLOW BURN.
