PAY LESS ATTENTION ABOUT PERCEPTION, PAY MORE ATTENTION TO REALITY

Perception is the lens that clouds reality. The closer to reality you get the clearer your perception. The less you become distracted by opinions the more hungry you get for truth.

When you’re hinged to the perception others may have of you, you limit what’s possible for you to see and experience. You divided yourself. That
divide robs you of originality.

If you favor the perception of yourself you will take action based on what you think others want of you. So your attention in action will be divided. Because your attention is in part on this idea of acceptance. So you begin to play a role, like an actor in a movie. You are fitting into the script you have developed in your head. This is an attachment to an idea you have about who you think others (society, family, friends, colleagues) want you to be. This is a form of suffocation which limits freedom and therefore diminishes originality. If you’re living through this image of how you appear, you are living through the effort and force of upholding an image that will gain approval and validation. You are living a second hand experience. You are divided from truth. Truth is not permanent. (Truth is not to be confused with societal facts that have been established through the construct of language, by humans.) Yet we crave permanency which is why we latch on to this image we’ve built up in our heads. This is also known as ego. Ego based on fear, but has role in the part, just like our legs help us walk. Our self image offers us meaning in our relationship to others. And perhaps our rational minds tie too much to meaning and therefore we miss out on actual living. The term yoga means to “yoke” or bring together or “union”. Which would imply no divide from yourself or no “self image”. The “self image” is what creates the divide. So how do you do breakthrough? One’s actual self is themselves in this moment, which is forever changing. This is truth. Because if you’re thinking of the past or the future you’re projecting an image – that’s not truth. Without thought of past or future there’s no image. You’re in yoga. Or union with what is. You see things exactly as they are. You have clarity. From that clarity your projections will be constructive, decisive, and honest. They will guide you but they will not own you.

To get closer to your truth you have to discover the truth. Some found their truth so the truth is unspoken to them. If this becomes your truth any direction you take will come without will or force. Because the no one’s pushing you into a path. You are quietly and curiously taking it. You will have much energy because you are not wasting it on force or will. You are moving with your natural state of love. You in love with what you’re doing, so you have much energy. Because love has no division. Notice how the word division has “vision” in it. Di – vision. Your vision is divided by the self image. Remove the self image and there’s no divide and there’s just pure vision.
